Can we do together?

Atten: Beneficiary,

I am Dr. Solomon Godwin, the Director of International Remittance Department of Finance Bank of Abidjan. I personally discovered a dormant account with a total sum of $3000,000.00 [THREE MILLION DOLLARS] during our Bank's Annual Year account auditing.

I want you to assist me in repatriating this fund $3000 000:00 [Three Dollars only] into your account for our mutual benefits.

The owner of this dormant account Late Mr. Thomas Stone who was an Oil Merchant died in a boat mishap.

Since the death of the deceased, nobody has operated in this account till date. Moreover, this account has NO NEXT OF KIN attached to it. Definitely, this fund will be confiscated by our BANKING CODE OF ETHICS if it remains dormant for a period of [5] years without any claims. In this regard, I earnestly need your full cooperation in transferring this money out of our bank to avoid our bank confiscating this fund.

I will also like us to invest some part of the money in your country. If you accept to work with me, you will be given 30% of the total money as your own share and 70% for me.

Forward to me the following requirements urgently;

A) Your Full Name:

B) Your Residential Address:

C) Your Direct Telephone Number:

D) The Name and Address of your Bank:

E) Your Account Number:

Be rest assured that the procedures to be adopted in effecting the release of the $3million to you will be official and legal which will protect us from any breach of the law now and after.

Looking forward to your cooperation.

Yours Sincerely,

Dr. Solomon Godwin

Kindly Read Carefully & Reply Back,

Kindly Read Carefully & Reply Back,

With Due Respect I humbly write to solicit for your partnership and assistance in the transfer and investment of my inheritance fund (USD 9.5M) Nine Million Five Hundred Thousand U.S Dollars from my late father who died mysteriously last year.

I will like to further introduce myself to you. My name is Mis.Zaria Kabba, I am age of 19 years girl, am only child of my late parents Mr.and Mrs.Alhaji Amadu Kabba

It was very evident that he was poisoned to death. In my culture, when a man dies, if he does not have a male child, the brothers shares his property leaving both the wife and the daughters empty handed including  the house they live in. This is the exact case with me as I am the only daughter of my father. I lost my mother when I was barely a year old and my father refused to re-marry another wife because he felt solely responsible for my mother death.

This is so because he concentrated much on his businesses that he rarely pays attention to domestic affairs. He was always travelling taking care of his businesses that he did not notice when my mother took ill. He thought it was a minor illness and was ignorant of this. My mother on her own resorted to self-medication. It was not until the illness degenerated that my father took my mother to hospital where she was diagnosed to find out that hypatitis had eaten deep into her blood stream. She didn't last long before she died.

This happened when I was barely a year old. Based on this, my father could not forgive himself easily because of it and said he was responsible for her death as he could have saved her if only he had paid attention to the things at home rather than concentrating much on his businesses.

Despite all entreaties by friends and relatives, he refused to remarry but ensured that I had everything that I wanted. It was as a result of this that he made me the next of kin to his fund deposit with the bank and stated that in the event of any eventuality, I should have a direct access to the fund only when I am 25 years of age otherwise I should have a guardian/partner intercede on my behalf for the release of the funds to me. Unfortunately, he died late last year and I am 19 years of age currently.

This is why I have contacted you to serve as a guardian to me and as my foreign partner for the transfer and investment of the fund overseas, My uncles does not know about the fund because he had already taken my father's houses and other properties because I am a girl and he said I do not have rights for any property.

He has requested to have my father's bank papers but I simply told him that I do not know where he kept them. He took the house in the village while the houses in the town were sold out.

Right now i am in the hotel and do sincerely want to travel out of the country. This can only happen when I have secured  the release and transfer of the funds into your bank account. This why it is important that we have a plan on the type of lucrative business that we can invest the funds on.

I had at various times had discussions with the director of international remittance unit of the bank where my father deposited the funds and I was assured that once, I have someone who would be willing to receive the funds on my behalf, they shall commence all proceedings to effect the release and transfer of the funds into the person's designated account.

Now, that you have signified your interest to partner with me, it would only be very necessary if you contact the bank and request for  the release and transfer of my inheritance fund into your nominated account for the purpose of investment and to further have me come over to your country to continue with my studies.

I shall be giving you the banks contact details as soon as I hear back from you so that you will go ahead and contact the bank.

PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH THIS EMAIL ADDRESS (zarialive.kabba@rocketmail.com)

Your urgent response will be appreciated

Talk to you the more.

May God bless you for helping me

Regard
Sincerely
Mis.Zaria Kabba

extra help. The goal is to have all students caught up on all of their
assignments so that last six weeks of school are successful.

Please talk to your student about their work completion. If your student

Boston

Dear Families,

I want to thank all of you who came out to the Fire Truck Pull this
weekend. It was a big success. We raised $2,100 and we had a lot of fun
in the process.

As of right now we are $4,700 short. We will have a better sense of how
much money is needed to be raised after all final payments have been
received.

We will be doing at least three more fundraisers:

1) Thursday, April 19th - we will be having a bake sale for the Struggle
for Equality night. Please contact me if you are willing to send a bake
good with your student on that evening as all students are required to
participate in the event.

2) Friday, May 4th Middle School Dance

3) Saturday May 5th, there will be a car wash at Four Seasons.

There is also a possibility to have a bake sale this weekend at the
basketball tournament that will be taking place at the Elementary School
and High School. In order to take advantage of this opportunity, I need a
couple of parents to organize and facilitate this bake sale. Please
contact me if you are willing to do so.

If you have not paid in full, please do so by 4/19.

Sincerely,
Joe Smith

Social Studies: Report Card for 3rd Quarter

Hello Parents,

I wanted to write a quick note about the 3rd quarter report card for Social Studies. During 3rd quarter, the Social Studies department decided on three standards to assess (H&SS7-8:10, 15, and 17). We spent the majority of the quarter focusing on H&SS7-8:10 with our study of the events leading to the American Revolution and the war itself. There were a total of 5 assessments used for this standard. We then moved into the formation of government and the early struggles we experienced as a new country. This is where our student intern, Brady Murray, ran his unit. Due to the lateness in the quarter, we were only able to thoroughly cover the standard H&SS7-8:15 and barely touch upon standard H&SS7-8:17. In the report card, you will only see the two standards being reported on (H&SS7-8:10 and 15). We only had one assessment for the third standard which only covered two days of work. We did not think that this one assessment would be a fair to put on the report card as a true representation of your son/daughter's understanding of the standard. This standard does carry over into many aspects of the unit we are currently engaged in, "Struggles for Equality". Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

We are currently engaged in the unit on Struggles for Equality. This is taking a look at the various groups of people who have been part of our nation's history that have not had access to the rights guarenteed by our constitution. Slavery, civil rights movement, women's rights, Native American history, child labor all are topics included in this unit. The entire 7th and 8th grade are engaged in the same unit. We will hold a celebration of student work on the evening of Thursday, April 19th. This will allow students to show parents and community members the projects on this unit that they are currently working on. Your attendance would be greatly appreciated. Also, your help could be used with asking your son/daughter questions about what they are working on, adding information/discussion that you know on the topic, and most importantly helping your son/daughter meet the deadline for this project. Thank you.

Mr. Burton

Math: April 2-6

Struggle for Equality

Hi All,
English and Social Studies classes throughout the entire middle school have begun a shared unit: The Struggle for Equality. We will look at various groups from the United States who have had to overcome significant challenges to enjoy their basic human rights and/or constitutional rights. Students will complete four products by the end of the unit: A mini research paper; An original work of art; An artist's statement essay; and a persuasive essay. Students will be very busy with these projects, both in class and out. They may need assistance with specific art supplies, such as clay, paint, etc. Please join us for a wonderful evening showcase of all the students' art projects on April 19th at 6:30pm.
Please email Mr. Roof or Mr. Burton with any questions.
Thanks,
Mr. Roof

Re: Student-Led Conferences

Good Morning Everyone,

I had sent an e-mail Last Wednesday when Abby was out sick but received no confirmation on a conference time.  Is there anyway I can schedule one for either tonight or tomorrow so it is not another inconvenience for the Cassiopeia Team teachers.

Sincerely,
Jana Talcott

Spaghetti Dinner

Dear Families,

This is to remind you that the Spaghetti Dinner will be February 23rd from
5:00 - 7:00 followed by the Phantom Tollbooth at 7:00. The cost of the
dinner is by donation and the Phantom Tollbooth is $5.00. You do not need
to go to both.

In order to make this dinner successful, WE NEED TO GET THE WORD OUT and
encouraging people to attend. I have attached the flyer to this email.
Please post at your places of worship, around town, at work, etc. The
more people we can get to come the better. Because everything is donated,
all of the money raised goes directly to Boston. I have attached the
flyer to this email to help spread the word.

We are looking for the following items to be donated.

Parmesan Cheese
Salad Dressing
Salad Ingredients
Drink Mix
Baked goods for dessert
Bread

If you make a donation and/or your child helps out at the dinner this will
count towards one of their 3 fund raisers.

Thanks,
Joe

This Week in U.S. History: 1/30-2/3

Hello Parents,

Sorry I have not kept this up to date the past couple of weeks. Report cards are a busy time, but the good news......quarter 2 report cards are done and should be mailed out this week. For my class, you will see that three standards were assessed. I used the persuasive essay, which was a three week process with background information all the way to writing final drafts, for one standard and then the whole unit around colonial America for the other two. I would like to see students scoring "3"s to show that they are meeting the learning objectives for the quarter.

We are currently in a new unit called "The Road to Revolution". Our main focus is on the main events that led to the American Revolution, the fact that many colonists felt that their basic rights were being violated, and how people organized themselves to inform people of the events that were unfolding. Last week, students created a timeline with many of these events and they researched five of their choice. The timelines are being used as the "assessment" instead of a test or quiz. They were due last Tuesday and I am still missing many (I will try to update powerschool this week to reflect quarter 3 assignments). At the end of last week and today, students were creating "Broadsides" - sort of like a newsletter informing people of an event. The Declaration of Independence was considered a broadside. They could create theirs in the form of a poem, song, rap, newsletter, or cartoon. These are due WEDNESDAY. Lastly, students will work in groups starting tomorrow and lasting until next Friday to create a skit on a specific event. Students will need to create a "character profile" for the person they will portray in their skit. This will be due on FRIDAY of this week. This week's assignments are:

____ Broadside (due Wednesday)
____ Character Profile (due Friday)

Have a great week. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Mr. Burton

2nd Installment Payment

January 9, 2012

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This is a reminder that the second installment of $25 for the Boston trip
is due on January 20th.

I also wanted to give you a quick update on our fundraising efforts. As
of today, we have raised over $12,000. However we still have a little
over $15,000 to go, so we need to continue the good effort in raising the
funds to ensure that we are able to go on this trip. We are currently
selling the tickets for the Calendar Raffle. We will also be doing a
bottle drive after the weekend of the Super Bowl and a Spaghetti Dinner,
which the date is still to be determined. Please remember that each
student does need to participate in at least three fundraisers or sell 20
calendar raffle tickets.

There has also been a change to the itinerary for the Boston trip. Blue
Man Group was sold out and therefore we will be going to see Sheer Madness
instead, which is a comedy whodunit, where the audience is part of the
show.

As a reminder, the date for the field trip is from May 23-25, 2012. You
can pay the remainder of your balance at any time. The third installment
of $25 will be due February 24th and the final installment will be due
April 6th. A full refund will be offered until April 1st. No student
will be denied going on this trip because of financial concerns. If you
need a scholarship, please let us know.

Below is the tentative itinerary for Boston:

May 23 7:00 a.m. Leave Milton Middle School
11:00 a.m. Arrive at Emerson College
1:00 p.m. Go to Museum of Science
5:00 p.m. Pizza at Emerson College
8:00 p.m. Sheer Madness

May 24 Small group exploration of Boston: Students will break into groups
of 8-10 and visit different museums, such as the Mass Museum of Art,
Franklin Zoo, Fenway Park, etc., based on their interests. Do you have any
info about dinner that night – will this be on the students?

May 25 9:00 a.m. Leave Emerson College, walk Freedom Trail, eat lunch at
Faneuil Hall
1:00 p.m. Boat cruise of Boston Harbor
3:00 p.m. Leave Boston
7:00 p.m. Arrive back in Milton

U.S. History: 1/3-1/6

Hello Parents,

Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. Students were pretty excited today to talk about some of their gifts and things they did over break. I want to announce a new addition to our class. We have Brady Murray from UVM who will be an intern for the semester. He was the intern for Joe Smith in the fall.

In U.S. History we are starting a new unit, "The Road to Revolution". We will look at issues that students feel passionate enough about to be moved to action. We then will look at current issues around the globe, types of protest, and any results from protest. We will then apply this to colonial times when many in the colonies rose up against British policies and rule. You may see an interview come home tonight or tomorrow as part of a homework assignment. I want students to interview an adult about some current or past protests, type of protest used, and any results that followed. Students can interview any adult so this assignment may end up being completed at school. The following are this week's assignments:

____ interview (due Thurs)
____ Vocabulary Quiz (Fri.)

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great week.

Mr. Burton
